The wedding industry encompasses such an incredible variety of creativity, and wedding fairs are a wonderful opportunity to meet some of these superbly talented people. I have handpicked some of my personal favourites from the Milton Keynes Wedding Fair that we attended on 14th October.
The Wedding Workshop – www.weddingworkshop.co.uk
This company is run by three lovely ladies who really are championing British bespoke design. Not only are their designs all handmade, they have a real eye for creating unique design touches, using sumptuous fabrics and creating beautiful colour combinations and textures. While sometimes bespoke design can be seen as something of a premium, the attention to detail and exquisite hand beading are really a testament to brilliant artistry, craftsmanship and a labour of love. What could be better than having dress designed and made totally for you and your special day!
Marcus Charter – www.marcuscharterphotography.co.uk
Marcus is a multi award winning photographer who originally comes from a corporate photography background, and over the last few years has branched out into wedding photography. Marcus has an exciting creative vision for capturing a couples big day, in ways that they might not have considered, in particular staying after the first dance to capture those spontaneous, natural and often hilarious party moments. His inventive use of flash and natural lighting bring a unique perspective to wedding photography that will leave you captivated by his images. Please check out his beautiful work in wonderful quality on his website – www.marcuscharterphotography.co.uk
Hockleys Cakes – www.hockleyscakes.co.uk
The first thing to say is that these lovely people kept us fed on samples of their chocolate cake during the time at the fair, and it was very, very good! Second is that these pictures do something of a disservice to these amazing cakes. The attention to detail is breathtaking. While there are all kinds of fads going on with wedding cake design, Hockleys’ cakes manage keep an air of classy tradition and understated glamour about them, whilst embracing bold colours and some brave design ideas. Check out their website and Facebook page for more lush designs.
